I will be driving in few years and want to save up so i can get a quality car for school. I would like a mercedes because i know that, depending on the model year, they are good cars. OR can you recommend something similar????

Here in the UK I can get a circa 1990 Mercedes 190 with the 2.2 litre diesel engine for around £250. Reasonable consumption too and their about as bullet proof as a car gets.
Only problems are that as a first car you pay Group 12 insurance and the fact that a 10000 mile service will cost me more than the car did.
Nice cars but the back seat is a bit small for gymnastics if you get my drift. Loads of street cred for a student.

Hmm, let’s see . . .
an affordable, used, reliable luxury car.
That’s like a multi-oxymoron!
Unless, of course, you’re an evil rich person, in which case you can afford most luxury cars.
Sure a Mercedes is a good car but the parts and service are horrendously expensive. You’re paying for the service on a car that cost $85,000+ new and as far as they’re concerned, it’s still and $85,000 car and they will charge you accordingly. If this is your first car, I wouldn’t worry about style. Get something cheap and dependable. A used Toyota, Hyundai, or Honda would fit the bill beautifully.
Good luck.
i really hate to tell you this, but why on earth would you want to buy a really nice car for your first one. odds are you will wreck it. not because you will be a bad driver, but everyone gets in a wreck at some point and it usually is their first car. if you still want style and luxury, try to get an acrua. i really like the tsx and rsx. sporty fun to drive good first car, plus a new one will run about the same as an old used mercedes. unless your talking about getting a early 90′s model
I would say get a used Infiniti, Acura, or Lexus, they are reliable and you can get a fairly new one, 06 – 07, for 15k to 20k, I don’t know your exact price range. I’m glad that you want a nice car, some people just don’t understand. Just don’t get a car over 25k until you are out of college and have a decent job. Hope this helped and Good luck.
Mercedes C240 is the cheapest and most affordable Mercedes. But still requires premium gas.
There are no reliable Mercedes. Look at Consumer Reports, etc., and they will agree. Losing the affordable side, though, a used Lexus GS is relatively sporty, and very, very reliable. The only problem is that because they are very reliable, they hold their values much better than the Germans.
You should also look at the last-generation of Acura TLs. They are very reliable, sporty, and can do no wrong. Again, though, they hold their values very well.
Beleive it or not, this car does exist! Unfortunatly since it has to be affordable that pretty much makes it an 80s car. I suggest a diesel Mercedes, those are tanks. Ive saw some with 400 000km on. Id also suggest a volvo 240. Those are probably the most reliable cars ever built. My Bro had one with around 450 000km on it. Id also check out Audis, Their body work tends to last a very very long time since their made of galvonized steel. Im not going to suggest any BMWs they’re all classifed as sporty and insurace would kill you, other than that their build quality is pretty good aswell.
Leave High class luxury to the germans and the sweeds and leave small economy vehicals to the japanese. Nothing can beat the build quality of an Audi, volvo, or a diesel mercedes.
I suggest checking out carsurvey.org look @ the mercedes w123 w124 w126 and volvo 240 and see for your self.
